The gastrointestinal (GI) conditions are problems related to the gastrointestinal tract, namely the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum, and other organs of digestion, the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.

Common Symptoms of GI Conditions.

Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are common medical conditions. Patients experience upset stomach, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, bloating, or changes in bowel habits (e.g., diarrhea, constipation).

Cancer Screening and Surveillance

Malabsorbtion

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an common term used to describe disorders that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract. The two most common diseases are:

  • Crohn’s disease – inflamation of any part of digestive tract, mostly in small intestine.

Esophageal conditions

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an common term used to describe disorders that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract. The two most common diseases are:

  • Reflux
  • Barrett’s Esophagus
  • Eosinophillic Esophagitis

Gastric Conditions

Common stomach (Gastric) disorders include any condition that affects the stomach, such as:

  • Helicobacter Pylori
  • Peptic Ulcer
  • Dyspepsia, Indigestion

Gallstones

Gallstones are hardened deposits of bile that can form in your gallbladder. Bile is a digestive fluid produced in your liver and stored in your gallbladder. Gallstones usually form when there’s too much cholesterol or bilirubin in the bile.

Symptoms

People with gallstones often have no symptoms. They are usually unaware that they have gallstones unless symptoms occur. These “silent gallstones” usually require no treatment.

Symptoms usually occur when complications develop. The most common symptom is pain in the right upper part of the abdomen.


Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a condition that affects the large intestine. Signs and symptoms include cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and diarrhea or constipation, or both. IBS is a chronic condition that you’ll need to manage long term.

Liver Conditions

The liver is essential for digesting food and ridding your body of toxic substances.

Liver conditions can be inherited (genetic) or caused by a variety of factors that damage the liver, such as viruses and alcohol use.
